Withdraw from the BioResource

Leaving the BioResource is very straightforward.

Please contact us on 0800 090 22 33 or email nbr@bioresource.nihr.ac.uk with ‘withdraw from BioResource‘ in the subject line, include your full name and year of birth in the email, and we will initiate the withdrawal process. You can withdraw from the BioResource at any time and without giving any reasons. Once you have withdrawn we will not contact you again for BioResource related studies.

Thank you for your support to date, we hope you have enjoyed the experience and we appreciate your time and commitment to our research studies.

If you choose to withdraw you will be asked to specify whether you would like us to destroy the samples and/or unlink the data you have donated.

Samples: if you choose to have your samples destroyed, only samples that are stored centrally, and not already prepared for testing will be destroyed. Samples that have been sent for testing will not be recalled for destruction, but no new data will be added to our research database. Samples are not linked to personal identifiable information.

Data: if you withdraw, then only a skeleton record of your information will be kept, along with your consent form, however this will only be visible to a very few individuals who need to keep this information for audit purposes. Any data that has been archived will not be destroyed, however this data is not linked to your personal identifiable information.

Once confirmation of your decision is received you will not be contacted again by the BioResource. If the BioResource is unable to confirm your decision, your sample/s and data will be retained for future use, but you will not be contacted again.

Thank you for your support to date, we hope you have enjoyed the experience and we appreciate your time and commitment to our research studies.
