Summary

We are studying the way normal blood cells are formed to better understand diseases of the blood system.

Healthy volunteers without a blood disease will be invited to donate a blood sample, to help us understand how natural variation in genes affects the formation of blood cells.

We would like to use this information to help us understand why some other people can go on to develop blood disorders.

Participation: For this study we recruited 6 volunteers from the Cambridge BioResource aged between 20 and 40 to give a 100ml blood sample. Volunteers were matched by age and gender.

Organisation: This study is organised by Professor Anthony Green from the School of Clinical Medicine at the University of Cambridge.
