We are conducting a study that is being run by the University of Cambridge and Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, to investigate bone and joint disorders.
Bone and joint disorders are very common but the extent to which they cause day to day problems for people is unclear. We are, therefore, asking members of the NIHR BioResource to complete a questionnaire that is designed to screen for these conditions.
The data obtained from the study will be combined with some of the information already held by the NIHR BioResource (including genetic data) to help develop a picture of bone and joint problems in the BioResource population.
Additionally, the results will enable us to approach people (anonymously via the BioResource) in the future to see if they wish to take part in further studies of bone and joint disorders.
Participation: For this study, 5502 participants from the Cambridge BioResource took part by completing a questionnaire.
Organisation: This study is organised by Professor Andrew McCaskie from the Department of Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery, Addenbrookes hospital.
