Summary

The overall goal of the “Genetic analysis of platelets in healthy individuals” study is to identify the genetic basis of inherited platelet conditions and to carry out laboratory tests on biological materials to fully understand the mechanisms underlying and contributing to these conditions. Knowledge of variation in platelet count, volume and function in healthy individuals forms the basis of being able to identify abnormal variation in patient populations.

Participation: This study recruited 42 participants from the Cambridge BioResource.

Organisation: This study was organised by Professor Willem Ouwehand from the Department of Medicine at the University of Cambridge.
