Study summary

This study is focused on identifying factors that are linked to specific types of symptoms in people with depression, including those known as atypical symptoms. People with atypical depression (AD) often report lifelong symptoms, alongside other psychiatric or physical conditions.

This study aims to investigate the personal experiences of those with atypical depression symptoms, which include excessive sleeping, feeling physically heavy, and mood reactivity (mood improvements during positive events in a depressive episode). Despite the significant risks associated with AD, including reduced life quality and comorbidities, research in this area remains limited.

We aim to deepen our understanding of depression's causes and the real-life experiences of those with AD
