Study summary

The study involved the collection and assessment of patient saliva and anterior nasal samples to evaluate the performance of a prototype SARS-CoV-2 lateral flow diagnostic assay. The data collected was used to improve and further develop the test in order to meet the high performance required for a reliable rapid antigen test. This data collected was invaluable in our understanding of the requirements when working with varying patient sample matrices and will act as a platform in the development of higher performance diagnostic tests.

We are very grateful to the individuals who provided samples and information to enable us to undertake this work.
