We aim to find out if the number of copies and types of genes called Alpha Defensins has any influence on the risk of inflammatory kidney disease. We will do this by using genome sequencing data from people with and without kidney disease to read the sequence of these genes in people with and without kidney disease and see if there are any differences that suggest that Alpha Defensins play a role in the disease.
