We know of 58 regions in the genome that are type 1 diabetes associated. It is likely that there are many more than this, but discovery of regions has been hampered by small sample sizes relative to other autoimmune diseases. We would like to combine as many cases and controls as possible, the larger the sample size the greater the scope for discovery. Controls from the Cambridge BioResource would provide power for meta-analysis.
Participation: For this study we provided deidentified data from 3119 volunteers from the Cambridge BioResource.
Organisation: This study is organised by Professor John Todd from the University of Oxford.
