University College London
The University College London Hospitals (UCLH) Biomedical Research Centre is focussed on experimental medicine with research organised into four programmes: Neuroscience, Cancer, Cardiometabolic and Infection, Immunity and Inflammation.
The University College London (UCL) BioResource focuses patient recruitment across these four domains as well as in other key areas identified by both the NIHR BioResource and from within our diverse research community. In addition to recruiting new patients to the UCL BioResource, we also work with existing patient groups and healthy volunteers to increase the number of participants available for research.
The aim of UCL BioResource is to build up a massive bank of 10,000 DNA, plasma and serum samples from patients and volunteers from UCLH and other UCLP hospitals, together with information about each volunteer’s ethnicity and gender.
NIHR University College London Hospitals BRC is a collaboration between University College London and University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, situated in the heart of London and providing services across seven hospitals.
