Our BioResource is part of the Biomedical Research Centre at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT), which is run in partnership with King’s College London.

The GSTT BioResource focuses on recruitment of patients and healthy volunteers across Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospitals. We currently recruit at:
i) several clinics (with the aim of expanding to the majority of disease areas)
ii) weekly stalls in the Birdsong Corridor at St. Thomas’ Hospital and the Reception at Guy’s Hospital.

Working closely within the NHS infrastructure, the GSTT BioResource plans to raise the profile of clinical research and the importance of NIHR BioResource participants in facilitating research studies.

The GSTT BioResource also includes Twins volunteers belonging to the TwinsUK registry, which is one of the most well-characterised cohorts in the world.

Professor Tim Spector, Professor of Genetic Epidemiology at King’s College London and Lead of the BioResource at Guy’s and St Thomas’ and King’s College London, says: “Joining the BioResource is a great opportunity for the local community to join thousands of volunteers throughout England taking part in groundbreaking medical research for the NHS with the aim of improving the future of healthcare in our community and hospitals.”
